Hot, muggy day but the fish were still biting. Deep in the weeds and edges of weed beds. Bite was quite aggressive despite the heat!

Verona Lake has about 14" of ice and is producing 4 to 5 lb pike like crazy. Fishing on this lake is always productive in the 12 to 15 ft depth range.

Weekend of June 18/19 was great for fishing on Verona Lake. Water levels are extremely high for this time of year and it is having an impact on vegetation growth There are a lot of algae blooms right now but fish are using it for cover. Bass season opens next weekend and if the collateral catches this weekend are any indication both large and smallmouth bass season will be fantastic on this lake.
